Kay Yvonne Reeves

March 26, 1936 — December 5, 2020

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Kay Yvonne Reeves on Saturday December 5, 2020 at the age of 84.

Kay Reeves was born to proud parents Roy and Laura Swanson, the first of three children, on March 26, 1936 in Cadillac, Michigan. In her early teens she loved to roller skate and spent many hours at the roller rink in Saginaw, Michigan with her friends.  In her mid-teens she moved to Grayling, Michigan where she attended Grayling High School.  She lived in Grayling throughout her early adult life and all three of her children, Debbie, Normie, and Dana were born there.  She was a beloved employee of the Chief Shoppenagon Hotel and Restaurant and worked there for many years.

On October 26, 1979 she married Robert (Bob) Reeves SR and they lived throughout the state of Michigan before settling in Auburn where they made their home for the past 20 years of their 41-year marriage.  Their union created an extended family of 8 children, 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Throughout her life Kay was known for her love of collecting Cobalt Blue glass pieces, her beautifully decorated Christmas trees adorned with perfect tinsel, and her love of elegantly decorating each home in which she lived.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Laura Swanson and her son Normie Smock and is survived by her husband Robert Reeves SR, her brother Gary (Pat) Swanson, and her sister Sharon (Denny) Stookey, her children Debbie (Steve) Bushey, Dana Smock (John Miller), Glen Reeves, Robert Reeves JR (Rita), Cynthia (Jeff) Larson, Linda Reeves, Elaine Gregor, and her many grandchildren, great grand children, great-great grandchildren and countless nieces, nephews, and lifetime friends.
