William Hoyt Canute

William Hoyt Canute, 82, of Grayling, MI., passed away on November 25, 2015. William was born in Mio, Michigan on August 1, 1933, a son of the late Lavona E. (Cornman ) and Harry D. Canute. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era. He retired from Kneeland Industries. Bill enjoyed golf, playing horseshoes, gathering mushrooms and making crafts. He and his wife, Erma enjoyed traveling to South Carolina in the winter. He married the former Erma Miller on September 8, 1995 in Grayling. Survived by his wife, Erma of 20 years. Daughter: Yvonne (Kevin) Canute of Ohio, Son: Kevin (Annette) Cotie of Harrison, Stepchildren: Elaine Brush of Grayling. Marshel Brush of Mio, Debbie (Edward) Parkinson of Mio 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Brother: Nute (Carolyn) Canute of Oscoda Preceded in death by his first wife Eva; daughter, Esther; 5 brothers and 3 sisters; and a stepson, Rick Brush. No public services are planned.
