Waneta (Nita) Ann Madsen, 68, of Grayling, passed away on February 13,2007. She was born on March 8, 1938, in Grayling, to the late Wilbur and Belle Sterling. She was to Howard R. Madsen for the past 32 years. She was a lifelong resident of the Grayling area and worked as cook for Chief Shoppenagon's and Gates AuSable for many years of her life. She loved her family, cooking , gardening, needlepoint, embroidering, and traveling. She is survived by her husband, Howard; children: William H. Walker Jr., Cindy Walker Larson, and Grace Walker Duby; sister Linda (Frank) Decker; six grandchildren, nine great-grand-children, a special niece and nephews; cousins, David Markby; step-children: Sherrie Cole, Sharon (Jerry) Gabriel, Shirley (John) Hayes , Howard S. (Ann) Madsen, Jerry (Jackie) Madsen, Susan (Charles) Nave, Robert (Kathy) Madsen, and Sandy Moore; 17 grandchildren ; and 21 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her late husband William H. Walker, in 1966. A celebration of life will be held on February 22, at 3 p.m. , at the Grayling Free Methodist Church.
