Thomas William Cojocar, age 67, of Grayling, MI passed away at his home on July 23, 2025. Tom was born on April 2, 1958 in Wyandotte, MI, He was a devoted husband to Marie, with whom he shared 45 years of marriage filled with love and laughter.
As a father he was our steady hand, his children were his pride and joy. He passed down his wisdom, values, and love that will carry on generations.
Also, a grandpa to his grandchildren, he brought so much to the table. He always was ready with a big bear hug, a word of encouragement or a goofy joke or someone to just talk to, he always had a listening ear.
Thomas was the voice of the Forest of Fear and raised over 100k in local charities. Tom would dress up as a clown and make balloon animals for local events including parades, and Kids Day. Tom had a heart of gold, thanks to this he won a Gala award of “You made it happen.”
He would take care of his neighbors, and friends by plowing driveways, and cutting grass. Thomas was a family-oriented person, he loved to be on his pontoon boat with his wife, grandkids, and friends. He had a passion for making Bird Houses, playing Euchre, and hunting. Tom couldn’t go anywhere without his german shepherd Coco or as he said, “Coco Puff.”
When Tom decided to retire at Lear in Roscommon, his coworkers were heartbroken due to Tom being an uplifting funny person making jokes at random times, or just smiling when walking in. His family and friends loved his cooking either if it was breakfast with his phenomenal french toast or pancakes, or dinner with smoked ribs.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Marie Cojocar; his children, Thomas (Jessica) Cojocar, Angela (Jerry) Hempel, and Henry (Madeline) Cojocar; grandchildren, Jeremy Hempel Jr., Brady Cojocar, Ashley Hempel, Blake Cojocar, Dante Cojocar, and Bryson Cojocar; step-grandchildren, Bryce Miller, Xander Miller, Titus Miller, Trent Remer, and Logan Miller; sisters, Janet (Matt) Maurer, Carol (Tony) Seaman, Denise (Ervin) Pettipas, and Pam Parsons; brother, James (Linda) Cojocar; step-sister, Michelle (Butch) Donnelly; brother-in-law, Ronnie (Julie) Garrett and David Garrett; best friends Scott and Jodie Benson and daughters Bobbie Jo (Jake) Reeves and Megan Benson; many nieces and nephews; and many dear friends who will miss him dearly.
