Stella Ann Johnson, age 79, of Beaver Creek Twp, MI passed away peacefully at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City on May 10, 2026.

Stella is survived by her loving family: daughters, Pamela Johnson and Tanya Lewis; sons, Norman Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Terry Wade Johnson, Tony Johnson, and Elvis Johnson; 24 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and siblings, Suzie, Frank, Floy and Junior.

Stella was born in Cass City on December 8, 1946 to Andrew and Ruby (Day) Spencer. They moved up to the Mio, MI area after she was born. Living here is where she eventually met her husband, Terry Norman Johnson. They were married on January 14, 1967 at Michelson Memorial united Methodist Church in Grayling, MI. Terry passed away just 3 months and 10 days before her. 

Stella enjoyed crafting and bead work. She also liked putting together puzzles in her later years. She also enjoyed watching old western movies and TV shows. She has an incredible urge to can anything that she could fit into a mason jar. Stella was a no fuss kind of woman. She enjoyed the simple life. She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will take place at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 10:00 am until the beginning of funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow directly after the service at Beaver Creek Twp Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Beaver Creek Twp Hall.
