Shirley Jean Matthews, 84, of Grayling, MI passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022.
Shirley was born on September 7, 1937 in Grayling, MI to Edwin and Edna (Wedger) Matthews.
Shirley Matthews, our Aunt. Shirley was the most joyful person I have ever known. She was smart, well spoken and kind to all. She had a passion for reading, writing, arts & crafts, watching old movies and gardening. But most of all she loved people. Loved to be around them, to talk to them. Shirley had a way of making you feel as if you were the only one in the room. Her humor was a marvelous one, it was smart, sharp and witty and her laugh was contagious. She just put a smile on your face, always. She never spoke negative and always put a positive spin on any situation. She was very pleasant and always polite. Just so much fun to be around. We love her and will miss her dearly. Our lives are filled with many fond memories. May she rest in peace and always have a seat at the table.
A burial of her cremated remains will take place in the summer of 2022 at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling, MI. Condolences can be shared with Shirley's family at www.sorensonlockwood.com.
