Ruth Marie Fenton

Ruth Marie Fenton, 97, of Grayling passed away on Monday, March 3rd, 2008. Ruth was born in Montpellier, IN on October 22, 1910, the daughter of the late Carry and Elizabeth (Marical) Ratliff. She married Glen Fenton on October 17, 1934 in Russell, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1951. Ruth was active in many areas of Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church in which she was the financial secretary for many years. She was involved with preparing meals in the church kitchen which was dedicated as Ruth Fenton's Kitchen. She is an honorary member of the Michelson UMW Society. Ruth was previously active in the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, a charter member of the Grayling Women's Club, and Order of Eastern Stars. She was known for the cakes she decorated and also enjoyed painting. Ruth is survived by Daughters: Barbara (Edward) Holtcamp of Grayling, MI. Peggy Menge of Grawn, MI. Grandchildren: Charles Holtcamp of Traverse City Randy (Heidi Jones) Holtcamp of Traverse City Matthew (Lisa) Holtcamp of Grayling Bill Menge of Hudsonville, MI Ruth is also survived by 7 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by husband Glen, and a great granddaughter, Marissa Marie Holtcamp Visitation Thursday March 6, 2008 between 11:00 -1:00 p.m. at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church. Funeral Service will be held at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church, Grayling, MI, on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at !:00 p.m. with Dr. William Cargo officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church to the "Memorial Kitchen Fund" Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Spring 2008.
