Robert William "Bob" Summers, 88, of Grayling, died in his sleep on September 18, 2023 at home. He was born on December 25, 1934 in Pontiac, Michigan. He was the son of William and Helen Summers.

Bob married Barbara Waldorf on January 28, 1956. They have three children. 

Bob was an industrial arts teacher. He coached basketball, football, and baseball. He was the owner of Old World Enterprises in Detroit. They built, repaired, and refinished furniture. 

Bob was a member of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel, Manistee River Association, NRA, and Michelson Memorial Methodist Church. 

Preceding him in death were his parents, sister, and brother-in-law Ruth and Leo Prudhome, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Shirley and Tony Stephanic, and son-in-law Jerry Burkett. 

He is survived by his wife Barbara; children Barrett (Susan) Summers, of Catoosa, OK, Bradley (Barb) Summers of Grayling, MI, Brenda Burkett of Grayling, MI; grandchildren; Lindsay (Andrew) Metzger of Longview, TX, Andrew Summers of Catoosa, OK, Tyler Summers of Grayling, MI, Troy (fiance Hailey Wickstom) Summers of Grand Rapids, MI; great-grandchildren Alexander and Ian Metzger. 

Memorial contributions may be made in Bob's honor to the AuSable Valley Animal Shelter.
