Robert (Bob) Matyn Breaugh, 92 of Grayling, MI passed away unexpectedly in St. Clair Shores, MI on Thursday May 9, 2024. Robert was born April 14, 1932, to William and Mary (Matyn) Breaugh in Detroit, MI.

He married the love of his life Barbara (Verwey) August 22, 1953, a marriage that lasted 61 years. Together they raised 6 children. Gary Breaugh, Kathy Leone, William Breaugh, Paul (late Beth) Breaugh, Lawrence (Shirley) Breaugh, Sherri (Ray) Zoia. 12 grand children, Krystle Breaugh, Marshall (Miriam) Breaugh, Lindley (Eric) Maresh, Vita (Jamie) Radke, Nichole (Justin) Nellis, Allison (Carl) Rozkowski, Tara (Todd) McKee, John Breaugh, Michel Breaugh, Caleb Breaugh, Suzette (Ryan) Schimm, Kimberly (Ryan) Brown. 13 great grand children, Alissa Cabrera, Devynn Cabrera, Jazmyn Cabrera, Lilly Johnson, Marvin Johnson, Jamie Radke, Jack Radke, Henry Rozkowski, Hailey Butcher, Kiley Butcher, Kendall Breaugh, Logan Schimm, Scarlett Schimm.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, daughter in-law Beth Breaugh, sister and brother in-law Beverly (Donald) Riehle, brother Gerald Breaugh, sister in-law and brother in-law Shirley (Walter) Wuolle, nephew Craig Wuolle and great grandson Griffin Brown.

He worked for Domestic Linen Supply as a supervisor for 35 years, retiring at the young age of 55. After retirement Bob and Barbie moved to Grayling, MI. He was a long time member of the Eagles Club and Grayling Country Club. He golfed on the men’s league and joined The Hookers and Slicers golf league with Barbie. Together they managed the Knights of Columbus Hall rentals. They were very active at St. Mary Catholic Church, Grayling MI. He was an usher for many years. Bob was a Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. Many Sunday mornings he could be found in the kitchen making doughnuts for after mass. He was also the membership director for the Knights for over 25 years.

He was a snowbird, spending the winter months in Punta Gorda, Florida. He was known as Talkin Bob to his friends in Pelican Harbor where he stayed. He loved a good conversation with his friends or anybody for that matter. Talkin Bob was known for baking chocolate chip or peanut butter cookies to bring to many of the events in the park. While in Florida he enjoyed playing bocce ball, shuffleboard, euchre and many more activities. He loved dancing at the dances in Pelican Harbor. After the passing of his wife, he had many of the women in the park lining up to have a dance with him.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday July 13, 2024 at 10:00 AM, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Grayling, MI. A burial service of Robert and Barbara’s ashes will take place immediately following the church service at Elmwood Cemetery, Grayling. A luncheon will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Hall following the burial service.
