Richard Roy Stager, 72, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, MI on April 24, 2026.

Richard was born on June 21, 1953 in Port Huron, MI to Herbert and Virginia (Williams) Stager. Richard went into the Army National Guard out of high school in 1973. After his service he worked in the automotive industry.

He loved to go camping. He liked to think he was a funny guy when being playful with his wife Julie. He was an all around great man. He loved his wife's cooking. Most of all he loved his family and his grandchildren. He enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest.

Richard will be missed by his wife, Julie Ann (Hall) Stager; children, Stephanie (Harley) Thomas, Trisha Steemburg, Jeremiah Steemburg, Jessica Stager, Joscelynne Stager, and Jaelynn Stager; 7 grandchildren; and siblings, Evelyn (Tom deceased) MacPherson, Rosemary Herro, Janet (Chuck) Smith, Cindy (Russ) Wright, Shirley (James) Redfield, James Stager, Thomas Stager, Steven (Synde) Stager, Ronald (Pauline) Stager, and Jeffery (Lisa) Stager.

Richard is preceded in death by his grandson, Jylace Steemburg and his parents.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
