Richard Wesley Ritenburgh

Richard Wesley Ritenburgh, 84, of Kalkaska, passed away on April 1, 2016. He was born in Flint, Michigan to Floyd Burton and Alvena Mary (Krage) Ritenburgh on February 23, 1932. Richard graduated from Grand Blanc High School. Richard served in the United States Army between the years of 1952-1954. He worked at General Motors for 30 years and retired in 1986. After retiring, he moved to the family farm in Kalkaska. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, chickens, and cows. Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing, which included trips out west for hunting. Survived by: Sister: Norma (Glenn) Cotton of Kalkaska Brother: Vernon (Ilene) Ritenburgh of Caledonia Sisters in law: Donna Jean Ritenburgh of Davison and Margaret Ritenburgh of Traverse City. Many nieces and nephews. Daughter: Delaphine (Chris) Carlson of Burton. Grandson: Aaron Miller of Lansing Also survived by a long standing friend, Mark (Maudie) Wendling of Fenton. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold and Gerald Ritenburgh. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016 between 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, Michigan. Service will begin at 12:00 noon on April 4. 2016 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home with Pastor David McCool officiating. Interment will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling at a later date.
