Richard "Kozy" Kenneth Ohsowski

Richard "Kozy" Kenneth Ohsowski, age 81, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in Roscommon on July 16, 2025.

Richard was born on June 27, 1944 in Detroit, MI to Frank and Helen (Gustaw) Ohsowski. He married Beverly Ann Ohsowski on June 25, 1966 in Wayne, MI. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, doing word searches and working on cars. He also loved all his animals he had including birds, squirrels, and monkeys.

Richard had many different career paths throughout his life. He worked for Cadillacs and Fords for many years. He then purchased the Kozy Korner store in Grayling which was a small party store. After that, he worked as a mechanic at Scheer Motors in Grayling for several years. Following that, he worked for Crawford Ausable Schools as a bus driver and bus mechanic.

Richard liked hanging out with his friends having a cold one. But more than anything, he loved and enjoyed the time he was able to spend with his grandchildren and family.

Richard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beverly Ann Ohsowski; children, Carl (Robyn) Ohsowski, Brenda (Mike) Wargo, and Jennifer (Jacob) Gebhard; grandchildren, Patrick Ohsowski, Kristi (Rob Press) Warren, Barbie (Jason) Hoesli, and Cooper Gebhard; great-grandchildren, Samantha Hoesli, Max Hoesli, Erica (Robert) Hoesli, Joshua Warren, Kaitlyn Warren, Marleena and Elijah; great-great-grandson, Jackson McMillan; sister-in-law, Stevie Ohsowski; and several more sister and brotherin-laws, nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by grandsons Stephan Ohsowski and Michael Scott, parents Frank and Helen Ohsowski, brother Frank Ohsowski, sister and brother-in-law Patricia (Norm) Reske, grandson Gregory Warren, and beloved dog Harley in January.

Visitation will take place at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling on Monday, July 21, 2025, 12:00 - 1:00 pm followed by funeral service at 1:00 pm. Following the service a luncheon will be provided at the funeral home.
