Randy Edward Helsel, 50, of Grayling, MI passed away unexpectedly on April 24, 2026 at Munson Healthcare - Grayling Hospital.

Randy was born to Kenneth and Anna (Miller) Helsel on January 17, 1976 in Grayling, MI.

Randy worked in the oil and gas industry, and it was a huge part of his life that took him and his wife all across the country over the years, leaving a little grease and grit in his wake—marks of a life spent working hard and doing what he loved.

Randy had a big personality and a natural gift for making people laugh. His quick wit and love of a good joke could lift any room, and he never missed a chance to get a smile or a laugh out of those around him. His humor, big heart, and joy for life left a mark on everyone who knew him.

Randy will be dearly missed by his wife, Sadee Marie Helsel; daughter, Kegan Helsel; mother, Anna Lawless; brothers, Ken (Cheri) Helsel and Jerry (Michelle) Helsel; and many nieces and nephews his extended family James Schweizer, Denem Alexander, and Veronica Alexander; and many nieces and nephews, Chad, Nate, Jordan, Abbey, Kristi, Tyler, Madison, Lauren, Roslyn, Lydia and Anthea. He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Helsel and his beloved dogs Rig Whitepaw and Lucy Lou.

Randy will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Randy is being cremated according to his wishes. His family will remember him privately during this time. A celebration of life is being planned and will be announced at a later time.
