Patrick John Smith

Patrick John Smith, 74, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully on January 21, 2024 with family by his side.

Patrick was born on November 2, 1949 in Detroit, MI to John Esper and Mary Grace (nee Lane) Smith. He served in the United States Navy from April 1969 to April 1975 and served in Vietnam. Patrick was a member of the Moose Lodge and the VFW. He was a proud veteran who was Commander of the VFW at one time in Southgate, MI. He loved to play euchre, having bonfires and being outdoors as much as possible. Barbecuing was one of his favorites along with doing home improvements. He was very recognizable by his beard. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his daughter Lana Moore of Clarkston, MI and his son Andrew Smith of Grayling, MI. Grandchildren: Aaron Irick, Joseph Virga, Antonio Virga, Kaiden Smith, and Joseph Armstrong. Great grandson: Thaddeus Irick. Siblings: Michael Smith, Mary Smith, Mark Smith, Paul Smith, Margaret Smith, and David Smith. 
Preceded by wife Kathleen D. Smith, children Patrick Smith and William Dennis Moore, brother Tom Smith, and parents John and Mary Smith.
