Patricia (Patty) Marian Salyers of Grayling, MI passed away at the age of 63, on October 1, 2021. She was born in Lansing, MI on January 5, 1958, to the late Fritz Olaf and Nina Mae (McKenzie) Carlson. Patty had three sisters (Carol, Robin, and Sheri) and two brothers (Fritz and David). She was blessed with three children (Michelle, Michael, and Mitchell) and five grandchildren (Grant, Amrielle, Bellamy, Beckett, and Raegan), which she loved and cherished with all of her heart.
Patty worked in several different roles within the Crawford AuSable School District (CASD), the most recent being Manager of the Grayling High School kitchen. She had a passion for making and serving food to others. Beyond her employment at CASD, she catered events, worked with Goodwill Services at Camp Grayling managing a Mess Hall that fed many soldiers, and volunteered where ever she was needed. She coordinated endless activities and generous projects through Modern Woodmen of America to enhance and touch the lives of people of all ages.
Faith was a major cornerstone and foundation of Patty's life. She helped many area churches carry out their mission to serve others. Patty was always willing to offer prayers and encouragement, share scripture, lead a Bible study, and share her love of God. She demonstrated that serving God goes beyond the walls of the church.
Patty will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and desire to serve others.
Celebration of Patty Salyers Life will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 between 2pm to 5pm. Condolences and memories of Patty can be shared with the family at www.sorensonlockwood.com.
