Melissa Kay Allison, 54, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully at MyMichigan Health In Saginaw, MI on April 14, 2026 with her family by her side.

Melissa was born on August 12, 1971 in Grayling, MI to Chester and Kathleen (Canfield) Hawley. Melissa could always be found in the morning catching up on her soaps and drinking her creamer with a dash of coffee. Jokingly, she was proud of her nickname "TitsMcgee". She loved the movies Porky's, Annie, and Matilda and the Lifetime channel or a good murder mystery. She always said she wanted to visit and move to Hawaii. She also enjoyed shopping and favorite colors were purple and black together.

She was all about her grandchildren and spending time with her kids. She always said “It’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later.” She always made it a point too say "I love you". She was a huge animal lover.

Melissa is going to be dearly missed by her family, including her children, Randy (Lexi) Allison, Aleeshia (Gary) Allison-Thompson, Zoie Allison, and Cameron Rose; step-children, Anthony "Bubba" Allison and Casondra "Sonj" Moore; grandchildren, Remington Allison, Nehemiah, Vernon Thompson, and Bentley Thompson; siblings, Dawn (Stoddard) Hawley, Ginger (Duane) Beck, Chad (Amy) Hawley, Alan "Bubba" Hawley, and Terry "Lee" Johnson; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Montana Marie Allison; siblings Pamela Franck and Bill Hawley; aunt, Judy Cooper; mother and father, Chester and Kathleen; grandfather Cecil Canfield; and grandmother, Clois (Barrington) Canfield.

A Celebration of Melissa's Life will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026, 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home, PO Box 602, Grayling, MI to help pay for funeral costs.
