Max M. Jones, 101, of Higgins Lake, MI passed away peacefully on December 29, 2020
Max served in the United States Army during WWII and was a lifetime member and a founder of the Carson City, MI American Legion.
Max was born on November 28, 1919 in Sethton, MI on his grandparent’s family farm. He is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Lula (McWilliams) Jones, his brother Paul and 3 sisters, Leone, Hope and Wanda. He is also preceded in death by his wife of over 73 years, Dorothy (Troub) Jones and infant son Jimmy Jones.
Max and Dorothy lived in Carson City, MI for 25 years while raising their family. They moved to Higgins Lake in 1970 and lived there for the remainder of their lives.
Max is survived by his 3 sons, Billy (Patricia) Jones of Big Rapids, MI, Jerry (Carol) Jones of Coleman, MI, and Mick (LuAnn) Jones of Margate, FL; his 8 grandchildren, Deb (Mark) Newhouse, Todd (Amanda) Jones, Brad (Shelly) Jones, Cindy (Jeremy) Esch, Jeremy (Trista) Jones, Robbie (Dana) Jones, Tim (Laura) Jones, and Lindsay (Roberto) Cantu; 18 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Max will be sorely missed by all that knew him.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
