Mary Leona Weatherly

Mary Leona Weatherly, 77, of Beaver Creek Township passed away September 12, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving dog, Cuddles, and family. She was born in Detroit, MI, July 27, 1940 to Augusta and Eleanor Sobianek. Mary was a loving mother who cared for her family and was a loyal friend. She loved her community and was willing to help anyone in need. She donated her time when she could. She enjoyed cooking, painting and being with her family. Mary is survived by her siblings, Blanche Wojda, Chris Sobianek, and Barbara Kremkow; children, Roger (Cindy) Weatherly, Jr., Dawn (Michael) Burke, Wayne (Shelle) Weatherly, and Raymond (Bette) Weatherly; grandchildren, Danielle, Shawn, Keegan, Delanghy, and Ryan; and 7 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, Leon Sobianek, Germain Burns, Benny Sobianek, and Patricia Taylor; and husband, Roger Weatherly. A memorial service will take place Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 5:00 pm at St. John Lutheran Church in Grayling, MI. A dinner reception will follow the service at the Beaver Creek Township Community Center. Interment of Mary's cremated remains will take place at Beaver Creek Township Cemetery October 1, 2017 at 10:00 am for family friends. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Arrangements entrusted to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
