Margie Jean Harwood-Thomson

Margie Jean Harwood-Thomson, 92, a lifelong resident of Lovells Township, passed away on February 7, 2020.

She was born to the late Edgar and Ruth (Stillwagon) Caid on June 20, 1927 in Lovells. Margie married Patrick Harwood in 1948 in Grayling. Patrick preceded her in death in 1979. She later married Kenneth Thomson. They were married for about 10 years before he preceded her in death. Margie and Patrick owned and operated the Caid's Grocery for over 30 years. She was known as the local beautician and was also the Lovell's Township Treasurer. Margie loved being involved in the Lovell's area activities like Cheerful Givers, Lovells Community Chapel Ladies Guild, a member of Lovells Community Church, Euchre and card clubs. She enjoyed, cooking, sewing, quilting, and basket weaving.

Survived by her children: Cindy (David) Paquette of Clinton Township; Patrick Harwood of Midland; Todd (Sheila) Harwood of Lovells; and Paula (Nicole) Harwood of Clinton Township. Grandchildren: Katie (Steve) Johnson; Erin Harwood; Kari (Matt) Garrity; and Emily (Blaine) Anderson. Also survived by 4 great grandsons and 1 great granddaughter. Preceded in death by her parents, husbands, and brother Edgar Caid.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 between 3-7 p.m. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Celebration of Margie's Life will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Thursday, February, 13, 2020 at 11 a.m. with luncheon to follow. Interment will be at Lovells Township Cemetery in the spring.
