Laurence Neil Ostrowski

June 7, 1941 — July 8, 2020

Laurence Neil Ostrowski, 79, of Grayling passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, July 8, 2020.

Laurence was born June 7, 1941 in Detroit to the late Cornelius and Alice (Cutcher) Ostrowski.

Larry served as an expert rifle sharp shooter in the Army.  Loving husband and father of four. He went on to working in Construction and Real Estate and was the top salesman. As his children grew, he and his wife decided to move to Grayling to raise the family and he partnered in a Commercial & Residential Construction Company. Larry loved baseball, and the Detroit Tigers, he volunteered as a little league baseball coach for many years. He loved gardening, photography, boating, and fishing. He loved people and could strike up a conversation with a complete stranger. He loved social activities and loved having his family around him.

Laurence is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charleen Ostrowski; children, Khristy (John C.) Scheer of FL, Piper Ostrowski of Grayling and Larry Ostrowski, Jr. of Grayling; grandchildren, John Paul Scheer, Alex and Max Ostrowski; great-grandchildren, Cannon, Asa, Scout, and Larry Scheer; and sisters, Margaret and Patricia. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Ostrowski and sister, Barbara Ostrowski.

Those of us privileged enough to have spent time with him, know his infectious laugh and his love for socializing.  Larry wanted people to celebrate his life,  so raise a glass with a favorite drink and toast to his time here with all of us.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the family is having a small private service by invitation only. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
