Larry Lee Davis, age 86, of Grayling, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at the Crawford Continuing Care Center in Grayling, MI.

Larry was born on January 21, 1940, in Vicksburg, Michigan, to Carl and Donna Davis.

On September 13, 1958, Larry married the love of his life, Lois Jean Hatt. Their marriage was a remarkable testament to love, devotion, and unwavering commitment, spanning nearly 68 years. Together they built a beautiful life centered on family, hard work, and countless cherished memories.In 1962, Larry proudly answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War on the USS Independence.

Following his honorable discharge in 1966, he and his family returned to Grayling, where he began a career at Bear Archery, where he remained until the company’s closure. Many in the Grayling community remember Larry from his years at Ace Hardware, where his friendly smile, helpful nature, and strong work ethic made a lasting impression.

Larry was a truly kind and generous man whose quiet strength and compassion touched everyone who knew him. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was respected for his honesty, humility, and dedication.Outside of work, Larry enjoyed bowling and spent many years competing in bowling leagues. One of his greatest joys was teaching Lois how to bowl, creating memories that will be treasured for years to come. Larry’s legacy lives on in his family, the friends whose lives he enriched, and the many people who were fortunate enough to know such a genuinely good man. A life marked by integrity and kindness will forever remain in their hearts.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Lois Jean Davis; his children, Larry (Denise Boonie) Davis II, Lance (Shirlee) Davis, and Lonnie (Anne Brown) Davis; his grandchildren, Krystel Davis, Tiffany Davis, Cody Davis, Xander Davis, Devon Boonie, Isaac Davis, Gage Davis, Nicole Davis, Holly Davis, and Kelly Kidd; and his great-grandchildren, Thomas, Edward, Adalynn, Wrenley, Laykelee, and Riverlyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Donna Davis and in-laws, Dale and June Hatt.
