Mr. Kenneth G. Jacobs, 65, of Grayling, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2007. Mr. Jacobs was born in Bay City, Michigan on March 10, 1942, the son of the late Wilfred and Genevieve (Walther) Jacobs. Ken married Glenda Briggs on September 14, 1963 in Bay City, MI. They moved to Grayling in 1982 from Bay City. He retired from Weyerhauser in 1996. Ken was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Grayling and the Knights of Columbus. Ken enjoyed spending time with family and friends, telling 'olden day stories' to his grandchildren, outdoor activities like fishing, hunting, gardening, and farming, and tinkering in his shop. He is survived by his wife Glenda of 43 years, Daughter: Kimberly (Clark) Allen of Grayling, MI. Son(s): Mark (Cheryl) Jacobs of Grayling, MI., Brian (Vicki) Jacobs of Grayling, MI. Grandchildren: Brandon and Shantina Jacobs, Aleisha Hoover, Nicholas Jacobs, Jakob Hoover, and Zack Allen Numerous nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Visitation will be held on Sunday August 5, 2007 between 1-4 and 6-8pm. at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. A wake service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday August 5, at the funeral home and then a Knights of Columbus service will conclude the visitation time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Grayling, MI, on Monday August 6, 2007 at 11:00 am with Father Robert Nalley officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Grayling, Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Manor or Mercy Hospital. Condolences may be sent to www.sorensonlockwood.com.
