Kari Lin Backus (Robinson), 43, of Markey Twp, MI passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on March 21, 2023.
Kari is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff Backus; children, Chantel Stephen, Zane (Courtney) Backus, Logan Backus and Brice Backus; grandchildren, Leighton Backus, Nash Wood, and Rose Wood; parents, Larry & Nanci Robinson; sister, Robbi Robinson; many special nieces and nephews; and fur baby, Harry.
Kari enjoyed experiencing life to its fullest. She and Jeff liked to go beer tasting at all the different breweries they could find on their adventures. She flew by the seat of her pants. The saying was "You don't need a plan, just go".
Kari was very ambitious with everything she did. She was determined and a doer. She was the Matriarch of the entire family and took great care of everyone. She truly loved her family to the deepest part of her soul and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Her last words were "Just be positive", words that her family will hold close to their hearts forever.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI. Celebration of Kari's Life will be held Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM with visitation starting before-hand at 10:00 AM at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. A luncheon and Celebration of Life continuation will follow at Grayling Moose Lodge 1162.
