John Peterson Hall

John Peterson Hall, 86, of Grayling passed peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, March 23, 2008. John was born in Derby, Connecticut on October 4, 1921, to the late Orville & Ethyl (Peterson) Hall. He married Mary Frances Bellinger on June 14, 1947 in Flint, Michigan. After enlisting in the Army, John was attached to the 320th Bombardment group during WWII, with tours in N.W. Africa, Europe, and the Mediterranean flying with the B26 Marauder Squadron. John later joined Greenley's Electrical Service as a Repair Technician, retiring in 1977. His spare time was spent golfing, hunting, daily bike rides and lots of time spent with family and friends. John is survived by Daughter: Cindy (John)Jones of Grayling, MI. Grandchildren:Chris Jones of Kalamazoo, MI. Jeremy Jones of Portland, OR. Michele Papatheodore (James) of Fenton, John S. (Beth) Jones of Jackson, MI. 5 great grandchildren Preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Ethyl Hall; Brothers Donald, Gordon, and Robert Hall; Sisters Vivian Menattan and Bernice Defelice and Mary, beloved wife of 58 years. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Thursday March 27, 2008 beginning at 12:00 noon up until the time of the funeral service. Funeral service will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Thursday March 27, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. with Rev. Elizabeth Chace officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Crawford County Commission on Aging for their continued efforts serving seniors of Crawford County.
