Jewel Ruth Schuster

Jewel Ruth Schuster, age 84, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully at Medilodge in Gaylord on October 14, 2025.

She was born on July 4, 1941 to Lairs and Margaret (Greene) Slusher in Calloway Crossing, KY. Jewel enjoyed attending church at Grayling Resurrection Life Center and Grayling Assembly of God. Her companions were two pomeranians, which she loved dearly. She liked being with her family and had a very outgoing personality. She was known to always have her fingernails done and jewelry on.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Copenhaver of Gaylord, MI, Tammy (Scott) Doetsch of NC, and Mark (Elizabeth) Schuster of Waterford, MI; grandchildren, Mark Carpenter Jr., William Carpenter, Deanna Carpenter, Chance Thompson, Angel (Autumn) Copenhaver, Isaac (DeannaMarie) Copenhaver, Thelia Schuster, and Miracle Doetsch; great grandchildren, Logan, Skyler, Katie, Ranger, River, Axle, Brayden, Amir, Conner, and Briley; niece, Judy Carver; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.Jewel is preceded in death by husband James Schuster, daughter Tina McPeck, and siblings Clint and Evelyn.

Services will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling on Monday, October 20, 2025 with visitation from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm, funeral service at 12:00 pm. and interment to follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
