Obituary

Jerry William Walker of Grayling, age 89, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025 at The Brook of Grayling. He was born on March 3, 1936 to James W. and Suvilla (Fondren) Walker in Eudora, AR.

Jerry moved from Arkansas to Houston, TX at a very young age. He graduated from Galena Park High School where he enjoyed playing all the basic sports. He enlisted into the U.S. Army after high school and while on duty/assignment he met Dorothy Millikin at one of the local diners in Grayling, MI while staying at the Pointe North of Grayling Motel. Soon after meeting Dorothy and marrying her, he began working at Millikin's Excavating. He grew with the company and became part owner. Jerry later in life also ventured into banking and became a founding member of the Northern National Bank where he retired from.

He was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of the Grayling Country Club. He and his wife Dorothy enjoyed social events like bowling and golfing. They played golf in the mixed doubles league. They had a nice retirement home in Florida for 20 years. Jerry used his VA benefit to obtain his pilot's license and loved to fly.
