James "Cowboy" Earl Walsh, 86, of Higgins Lake passed away peacefully in Grayling on February 5, 2024.
Jim was born in Boulder, CO to Francis and Phyllis (Peden) Walsh on October 15, 1937. His love of horses brought him to own and operate Lakeview Riding Stables on the north side of Higgins Lake. Everyone knew Jim as "Cowboy". He met many people throughout his years at the stables.
Jim is survived by his children: Mike Walsh, Phyllis Walsh, John Walsh, and Patty Martini. Grandchildren: Trent Walsh, Rachael Walsh, Shad Martini and Isla Martini. Brother: Johnny Walsh. Ex-Wife: Elaine Walsh-Clark. Great grandchild: Jace. And Cousins: Marilyn "Tommy" and Mike Bankert. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother David Walsh.
