James Lee Bond

James Lee Bond, 83, of Grayling, passed away on October 27, 2018. He was born on August 16, 1935 in Olivet, Michigan to the late Frank and Alice (Taylor) Bond. James retired from Lansing Public Schools as a Driver's Education Teacher. He married Phyllis Irene Randolph on June 16, 1956 in Grayling at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church. James and Phyllis wintered in Golf Shores after retirement. Survived by his wife Phyllis of 62 years. Children: Jeffrey (Becky) Bond of Grayling and Julie (Jeffrey) Olmstead of Grand Rapids. Grandchildren: Rob Lawe, Kyle (Michelle) Bond, Molly (Seth) Roberts, and Sam Olmstead. Great grandchildren: Maddie and Sawyer Bond. Sister: Joey (Fred) Miller of Oscoda and Brother: Jon (Joan) Bond of Colorado. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on November 2, 2018 between 10-12 noon. Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 noon. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. For those that wish to remember James by memorial contribution, family suggests consideration be given to AuSable Valley Animal Shelter or Hospice of Helping Hands.
