Gloria Post, 82, of Grayling passed away on Wednesday, June 4th 2008. She was born in Frederic, MI on July 2nd, 1925, the daughter of the late Elmer and Margaret Corsaut. Her nickname from birth was Buddy because she looked like a rosebud. Gloria married Morden A. Post on March 9th, 1946 in Frederic, MI. They were married just short of 60 years before he was preceded in her death in March of 2006. They started out as a young, resourceful couple that used peach crates as coffee tables. Together, they loved to travel, play card games, and camping with her family. They were both longtime members of St. John Lutheran Church in Grayling. Morden and Gloria also enjoyed hunting and fishing together. Her children claimed she cooked the world's best venisonand sometimes it was legal She was daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and self-professed "shopaholic" and "chocoholic." Later in life, you could always find Gloria sitting in her swing on Michigan Ave watching the world go by; little did she know, the world was watching her too (curlers and pajamas in tow) She lead a long life of good food and good friends. The food was so good that she was always on a diet but had a not-so-secret stash of donuts, ice cream, and candy bars. Gloria was fortunate to have many loves in her lifeher husband, her family, her pets, and her church. Her depth of character is best exemplified through her favorite quote: "Don't walk in front of me, I may not follow; Don't walk behind me, I may not lead; Walk beside me and just be my friend." She is survived by her daughters, Gayle McClain and Debra Sala, both from Grayling and her son, Rick (and wife Cindi) Post, from Raleigh, North Carolina. She is also survived four grandchildren: Jason Post, Brandi (McClain) Varela, Antonio & Nicholas Sala and two great grand children.
