Gerald Dean Welch

Gerald Dean Welch, Age 89, of Grayling passed away at home on August 24, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born in Grayling to the late Lloyd Carlton Welch and Flossie Cox. He married Margaret Short on May 18, 1968 in Frederic, MI. He was a Warrant Officer #3 in the military and supervisor at MATES. He enjoyed ice fishing in the winter months.He was a member of the American Legion and Kalkaska Eagles. He is survived by his wife Margaret, Children Wayne Welch of Grayling, Susan Jones (Robert) of Gaylord, Jeffrey Welch (Kim) of Grayling, Selena Kent (Stacey) of Grayling, 10 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, Brothers: Jon Bruce Welch (Ruth), Aubrey Welch (Linda), Sisters: Glenna Hessler, Denise Merithew (Don). Many Nieces and Nephews.He is preceded in death by Brother Roger Welch and his wife Nancy. Visitation will be Friday, September 8, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Sorenson- Lockwood Funeral Home with a service at 1:00 pm and a luncheon to follow at the Grayling American Legion.
