Fred "Pete" Kelly

Fred Kelly, 86, of Grayling peacefully made his final journey to be with the Lord on Friday, January 17, 2020.

Fred was born May 26, 1933 in Flint, MI to John and Mary Kelly. He married his wife Helen in 1956 and together, they would have five children.

Fred was a very hard worker. He was an excellent guitar player which ended up sparking his well known business, Fred Kelly Picks. Fred was trying to find just the right pick to play with, and many other musicians would ask him to create them picks as well over time. He started business in 1974. Through his creation of many different guitar picks, he met and became friends with many well known musicians. His guitar pick inventions will continue to live on for generations to come.

He had a huge heart when it came to his family and his wife Helen. He was very giving and quick to try to help those in need. Fred's love for the Lord shined bright every day. He witnessed his faith whenever he had a chance. He was a genuine and good man. His family is going to miss him dearly.

Fred is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Kelly; children, Mike Kelly, Christine Hesser, Ralph (Diana) Kelly, Margy (Ron) Alexander and Patricia (Lowery) Kelly-Napier; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerry and Joe. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and 10 siblings.

Funeral services will take place 3:00 pm Sunday, January 26, 2020 with visitation before starting at 11:00 am at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home with Pastor Bryant "Smoke" Skillern officiating. Condolences can be expressed at www.sorensonlockwood.com.
