Ellen Mae Helsel, 81, of Beaver Creek Township, passed away on December 14, 2020.
She was born on July 9, 1939 to the late Luther and Virgie Snyder in Fife Lake. She married Jacob Nevare Helsel in Lake City, Michigan. He preceded her in death in 1989. Ellen was a generous and giving person that was close to her family. She supported all family activities and sports. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, going to garage sales, crocheting, playing cards and other games, flowers and gardening, and playing tricks or jokes on others.
Survived by her children: Virginia, Deb, Cindy, Jake "Frenchie" and his wife Ginger, Jesse, and Travis. Grandchildren: Jason, Casey, Tanya (Bosco) Babbitt, Alyson (Matt) Swinehart, Charlene (Tim) Self, Jake Jr., Emmett, and Piper. She was also blessed with 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her children: Luke, Stevie, and Stacy; sister Luella Helsel; and brother, Leonard Snyder.
Public visitation following strict Covid precautions, including mandatory masks, will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Saturday, December 19, 2020 between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A private family service will be held.
