Douglas Alexander Burnett, Sr., age 77, of Grayling, Mi passed away peacefully at his home, Wednesday, May 20, 2026 surrounded by his wife and children.
Douglas was born in Allen park, Mi on November 24, 1948 to Robert and Queenie (Fowler) Burnett. He married the love of his life Cynthia Crowe on October 23, 1976 in Allen Park, Mi. Douglas served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed visiting his cottage in Canada. There was often a lot of fishing that would take place and time spent with his family and kids in the summertime. He also enjoyed motorcycling with his family. Douglas was extremely close with his immediate family, always tending to their needs. Family is what mattered most, and they will dearly be missing him.
Douglas is survived by his wife of 50 years Cynthia Karen Burnett; children Scott (Ronnee) Hancock, Douglas (Kate) Burnett, Jr., and James (Lydia) Burnett; sister, Janet Burnett; brother, Rod (Denise) Burnett; grandchildren, Erin (Mike) Brown, Mariah (Trenton Gabriel) Burnett, Kaitlyn (Merik Hodgins) Burnett, Quinn Burnett, and Joleen Burnett; great grandchildren, Greyson Brown, Colt Brown, and Harper Brown. Douglas is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Donald Burnett, Robert Burnett, Rosemary Rogers, and Bruce Burnett.
