Mrs. Diane A. Jorgensen, 60, of Grayling passed away on Friday, May 16th, 2008 at her home at 602 Maple St. Grayling, MI after a short illness with Ovarian Cancer. She spent her growing up years in Humbolt, Co. in Northern California, namely Loop Rd. . Diane was born in Scotia, California on December 3, 1947, the daughter of John and Verna (Williams) Carter. She and her husband David W. Jorgensen have known each other since they were 5 and 6 years old, they were neighbors, as well as attending the Fortuna, California Seventh-day Adventist Church and School together. They were married December 22, 1968 after Dave came home from Vietnam. They have lived in Oregon, Washington, California, and Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula. Dave entered the ministry in 1993 and Diane has worked by his side in the ministry unofficially preaching in the three churches that they are assigned to, at least once or twice a month, plus ministering to many people in the churches and community. She worked for several years as a cashier at the base here in Grayling, and currently was the head of housekeeping at Camp AuSable here in Grayling, a Seventh-day Adventist Youth Camp. She was a very talented woman, with a smile, and a cheerful word on her lips. She is survived by her husband Dave Jorgensen. Children: Kenneth Jorgensen and Shellie Moore. Grandchildren: Marissa Sutton, Kohn Sutton, Jazzmyn Jorgensen, and Jackson Jorgensen Parents: John & Verna Carter brothers Curtis Carter and Douglas Carter Sister: Emily Carter and numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces.
