Dennis James Henning, 71, of Grayling, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. Dennis was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on October 5, 1943. Dennis was the son of the late Walter and Mary (Nepp) Henning preceded him in death. He was raised by his stepfather, the late Norman F. Ruhe. Dennis married Tracy (Roper) Olender on September 5, 1982 in Grayling, Michigan. Dennis was retired from Camp Grayling and Verizon (Frontier) Telephone Company. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing pinochle, and spending time with his family and friends. He loved his Wisconsin teams: Packers and Badgers. Dennis attended Grayling Free Methodist Church. He was a member of the Volunteer Defense Force, Retired Military Association, Grayling Eagles, and American Legion Post 106. Dennis is survived by his wife Tracy of 33 years. Daughters: Valerie Kay and Amber Marie Henning of Grayling. Eight grandchildren. Special family member: Donnie Hibbard Mother in law: Marjorie Roper of Grayling Brother in law: Mike (Darlene) Roper of Gaylord Brothers: Edward Henning, Robert Henning, Ervin Ruhe, and Norman Ruhe,Jr. Sisters: Carol (Ruhe) Wollner, Sharon (Ruhe) Varisco, Eadie (Henning) Berndt. Several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his brothers: Ronald L. Nepp, Walter W. Henning, Jr., Jerald Henning, and sister Marilyn M. (Henning) Kayl. Visitation will be held at Grayling Free Methodist Church on Saturday, April 18, 2015 between 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors to follow.
