Delores Papendick, 96 years of age, passed away on May 1, 2026. She was born on July 28, 1929 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to William and Laura (Dehne) Steffen. On January 5, 1952, Delores married Clarence Papendick. They were married 68 years until his death in 2020.

From the age of 11 to 18, Delores was in an indoor circus at the Manitowoc Vocational School. She was employed by the Mirro Aluminum Company until her marriage when she moved to Grayling, Michigan. During her marriage she worked 27 years at Bear Archery. Upon its closure, Clarence and Delores moved to Colorado for 10 years, returning to Grayling to retire.

Quilting and sewing were her passion, donating many quilts to Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church in addition to gifting many to family members.

Delores is survived by her sons Rusty (Pat) Papendick and Perry (Vickie Nicholls) Papendick both of Grayling, daughter Tina (Jim) Bassett and Renee (Mike) Moery of Grayling and Maple Forest; grandchildren Marilyn (Jerry) Gauthier, Shannon (Derek) Mienk, Cheryl (Justin) Bennett, Sara Bassett, Autumn Papendick, Ashley Moery and Nathan (Kora Gehringer) Moery; 12 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews including great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence, all 5 of her siblings, son Ed Papendick and granddaughter Angie Moggo.
