Delores Mae Coffeen, age 90, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 29, 2025.
Delores was born in Caro, MI on December 20, 1934 to Stanley A. and Olive Mary (Kelly) Putnam. Delores took pride in her work of caring for many people over the years in the adult foster care system. When she first began this journey, she was taking people right into her own home. That was where her heart was, doing anything she could to make a difference in these people’s lives.
Delores enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and other extended family. They were her pride and joy. She enjoyed spending time doing word searches, crocheting, and knitting. She always said that when she was given her cat Tigger on Mother’s Day, it was the best Mother’s Day gift she had ever received. Tigger was her comforter and friend. She loved the fall time, being in nature, gardening, and waterfalls.
Delores will be dearly missed by her family, including her children, Troy (Mary) Coffeen, Shari Wilson, Tammy Kenworthy, and Michelle (Greg) Creel; daughter-in-law, Lillian Coffeen; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brother, Jack Putnam. She is preceded in death by her son Paul W. Scott Coffeen, parents Stanley & Olive Putnam, brothers Stan, Cecil, Jim, Bob, and Daniel, and sister Shirley.
Per her wishes, Delores was cremated and will have a memorial gathering to celebrate her life on October 18, 2025 at 2:00 pm at New Beginnings Missionary Church, 2232 E Mt. Morris Rd, Mt. Morris, MI 48458.
