Obituary

Debra Jane Weaver, age 71, of Grayling, Michigan, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, surrounded by the love of her husband and son.

Debra was born on April 6, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan, to William and Peggy (Deadman) McInnes.

Debra dedicated her life to serving others. She possessed a compassionate heart and an unwavering desire to help anyone in need. Whether through her career, volunteer work, or daily acts of kindness, she generously gave her time and talents to those around her. Although she explored other career paths, nursing ultimately became her true calling. She found her greatest fulfillment caring for the elderly, a role she embraced with exceptional compassion and dedication.

Her commitment to others extended far beyond her profession. Debra organized hundreds of charitable events throughout her life and devoted countless hours to helping families in need. During the 1980s, she operated a foster care home, a mission she was grateful to reopen in the early 2000s. Caring for others was not simply what she did—it was who she was.

In her free time, Debra enjoyed a variety of creative hobbies, including sewing, crocheting, ceramics, diamond painting, and other arts and crafts. Above all else, she treasured her family. She especially loved attending her granddaughter’s barrel races, where she delighted in cheering her on and forming friendships within the barrel racing community. Her love for her family, friends, and community was evident in everything she did.

Debra is lovingly survived by her husband, Daniel R. Weaver; her sons, Daniel E. Weaver and Marcus Weaver; her grandchildren, Noah Weaver, Lukas Weaver, Sophia Weaver, and Alyza Weaver; her brother, John McInnes; her step-brother, Joey Forlini; her half-siblings, Diane Kzamme, Craig McInnes, and Kelly Pepue; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved son, Gerald Weaver; her sister, Mary Forlini; her stepfather, Joseph Forlini; and her half-siblings, David and Billy.

A Celebration of Debra’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 106 in Grayling, Michigan.
