Carolyn Jane Alma

Carolyn Jane (Parrott) Alma, 76, of Frederic, went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2019.

She was born on January 16, 1943 in Grand Blanc, Michigan to the late James and Margaret (Howell) Parrott. She married Maurice Leroy Alma on October 5, 1973. They were married for 20 years before he preceded her in death in 1993. Carol retired from Ferrelgas after 34 1/2 years where she made many friends. She loved the Lord, her family and friends. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, knitting, and spending with all her extended family. 

Survived by her children: Sharon Alma-Smith of Oregon; Candy (David) Schreiber of Grayling; Maurice Alma, Jr. of Frederic; Bryan Patton of Florida; Denise (Jamie) Joseph of Frederic; Natalie (Mike) Beville of Florida; and Ty (Vanessa) Alma of Frederic. She was blessed with 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Brothers, Norman and Jim (Pat) Parrott of Indian River and sister, Lois Miller of Leslie, Michigan.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Maurice, son Bradley Alma, 2 great granddaughters Kinsley Babbitt and Elnora Kersey, and 4 sisters,Shirley Byce, Marion Herman, Dorothy Phillips, and Betty Matts. Visitation will be held at First Baptist Church in Frederic on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Spring of 2020.
