Bruce John Lennon

Bruce Lennon, 71 years old, of Grayling, MI, died unexpectedly on July 14th, 2023.

He was born in Detroit, MI on June 14th, 1952 to John B. and Irene Lennon. Bruce graduated from Grayling High School in 1970 and enlisted in the US Navy, where he served as a sonar technician on the USS W.S. Sims and Vreeland from 1970 until 1974 when he was honorably discharged.  

After his time in the Navy, Bruce met the love of his life, Elizabeth Keir, and married her in 1979. The two had one son together, John P. Lennon, and they remained happily married until the time of his passing. 

Bruce worked in many fields over the course of his life, including opticianry, which he practiced until the time of his retirement in 2014. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, the love that he expressed in his own way on a daily basis, and all cherished moments that he spent with those closest to him. 

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Lennon; their son, John P. Lennon; his sisters Janice Larson, Sherry Olds, Denise Lennon, Debra Walraven, and Nanette Mancuso; his brother Charles Lennon, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Irene Lennon; his father, John B. Lennon; his sisters Lori Palmer and Karen Lawrence; and his brother, Gerard Lennon.

There will be a visitation on Friday July 21st, 2023 from 9am to 10am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Grayling Michigan. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Jerry Hunko officiating following the visitation. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at St. Mary family center.
