Brenden Leroy Wilson Crowl
February 27, 1989 – July 28, 2025
Brenden Leroy Wilson Crowl, 36, of Grayling, Michigan, passed away on July 28, 2025.
Born on February 27, 1989, in Ravenna, Ohio, Brenden was the beloved son of the late Randy Crowl and Patricia Pratt. He spent his early years in Ohio and then moved to Michigan before returning to Ohio during his teenage years, where he completed his secondary education, graduating from Salem High School in 2007. Brenden was proud to return to Michigan to pursue higher education at the family-preferred Central Michigan University. While at CMU, Brenden studied physical therapy. He was blessed with the birth of his only son, Blake in 2012. Blake was considered Brenden’s greatest joy, and being apart from him, his greatest regret.
Brenden made his home in Grayling, where he had a simple life rooted in extended family. Known for his dependable work ethic, generous heart, and quiet strength, he touched the lives of those around him in deep and meaningful ways. His years-long battle with depression prevented him from seeing the value he brought to his family and friends. The sorrow in his heart made it impossible for him to stay longer.
Brenden was preceded in death by his father, Randy Crowl, his grandparents J Norman and June Wilson, Wilber and Hazel Crowl, and his uncles, Will Crowl, and Douglas Wilson.
Brenden is survived by his mother, Patricia Pratt, his sister, Brianne Crowl, his cherished son, Blake, his niece, Mya Crowl, and his nephew, Elliot Hoffman, as well as many family members and friends. His presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever be held close in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Cremation has taken place. A service to celebrate Brenden’s life will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Elizabeth Chace. A luncheon in honor of Brenden will be held at St. Francis Episcopal Church Parish Hall immediately following the service.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
