Betty May Jones

October 25, 1930 - December 29, 2025

Betty May Jones, a woman defined by her gift of gab, love for a good story, and her dedicated work ethic, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025, at the age of 95.

Born and raised in Detroit, Betty was a proud graduate of Redford High School, class of 1948. She spent her early professional years honing her skills in various secretarial and executive assistant roles. Her organizational talents and poise were well-regarded.

Her career culminated in over 25 years of service at Catholic Social Services within the St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center in Farmington Hills. There, she combined her professional expertise and compassion, contributing to the center's mission of supporting children and families in need.

Betty was a fixture of the Livonia community for nearly 60 years, where she raised her family and built a lifetime of memories. In 2022, she embarked on a new chapter, moving to Grayling, Michigan, to live with her daughter.

Those who knew Betty will remember her as an avid reader and a true aficionado of mystery novels, she rarely met a "whodunit" she didn't love. She also frequently shared vivid memories of her early days growing up in Detroit with her children and grandchildren.

Betty's greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her children: Cindi Wright and her husband, Joe; and John Jones and his wife, Beth Ann; and her grandchildren: Ben Jones, Megan Jones, and Courtney Jones.

Betty will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of hearing one of her stories.
