Bethany Ann Hubbard

Bethany "Beth" Ann Hubbard was a caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world surrounded by family on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 at age 69.

Beth was born to Thomas and Joanne Seavey on July 24th, 1953. After graduating high school, she married her husband of 50 years: David Hubbard. Together, they had three children: David Jr. (Wife Jodi), Cristina Eames (Husband Steven), and Jennie. Beth was also blessed with loving grandchildren: Hailey, Connor, Brooke, Molly, Dominic, and Max.

At 38 years old, Beth began a nursing career that remained at the center of her life until her passing.

Beth established deep community roots at Grayling Mercy Hospital and Kirtland Community College as the Director of Nursing. Beth was a fierce advocate for patient care and patient rights, and a gifted caregiver. To her great joy; daughter Cristina and granddaughter Hailey followed in her footsteps to become Registered Nurses.   

Beth loved spending time in the kitchen and quite simply was an amazing cook. Beth also had deep community ties to the local farm market. Beth and her daughter Jennie, spent countless hours baking family recipes in their home for the local Farm Market "Back to Our Roots". Beth was a strong advocate for growing the Farm Market to provide local goods to her community. Beth was the Farm Market Master for 12 years and enjoyed visiting with the community on each Thursday and Saturday markets (July - October).  She loved that the farm market really brought the community together and offered a place for families and friends to gather and catch up. 

For years, Beth was the one who decorated the Christmas tree in the lobby of Grayling Mercy Hospital. She continued this tradition with the Grayling City Hall Christmas tree teaching her daughter Jennie how to master decorating the Christmas tree. Beth and her daughter Jennie did this for 6 years for the Grayling City Hall and would love the joy people got when seeing the Christmas tree. Beth loved Christmas and what it represented, she was someone who constantly would give to her friends and family and always wanted people to BELIEVE in the magic of the Christmas Spirit. 

A Celebration of Life in Beth's honor will take place Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 12-4 PM with a Nursing Honor Guard Service at 2:30 PM at Kirtland Community College, 4800 W 4 Mile Rd, Grayling, MI 49738. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted for the "Bethany Ann Hubbard Memorial Scholarship". This scholarship will be established in memory of Beth to be awarded to Kirtland nursing students.
