Bernard "Ben" Emerson Greene, Jr., 69, of Grayling, MI passed away Thursday, October 9, 2014. Ben was born on August 20, 1945 to Bernard and Geraldine Greene in Pontiac, MI. He has lived in Grayling for 15 years after moving from other cities lived in, Clarkston, Pontiac, and Waterford. He married Patricia "Pat" Shine on November 9, 1967 in Phenix, AL. He worked for Burns International at the Pontiac Silverdome and General Motors. He was a member of the American Legion Post #162 and Local 594 UAW. He enjoyed hunting, driving, taking road trips, gun shows and anything his granddaughter Hailey could get him into doing. Ben is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Greene; children, Charles "Chuck" Greene, Pamela "Carla" (Darin) Louw of Chesterfield, MI, and Rick "Mr. Greene" of Grayling and Bay City, MI; grandchildren, Chaz, Dylan, Julianne, Robert, Hailey, and Autumn; brother-in-law Joe Booth of Waterford, MI; siblings Larry Greene of Lincoln, MI, and Linda (Gary) Morris of Hartland, MI; special best friends, Tom Bishop, Hailey Greene, and Josh Morgan. He is preceded in death by both parents, son Robert "Bobby" Greene and sister Diane Booth. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home in Grayling, MI. Services will take place Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 11:00 am at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Susan G. Komen Foundation, American Cancer Cancer Society, or American Legion Post #162. Ben's ashes are to be scattered August 16, 2015. Condolences may be expressed at Arrangements entrusted to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
