Barbara Rae (Czachorski) Basile, Alexander of Grayling, Michigan, passed peacefully into eternal rest on July 21, 2026, at the age of 95.

Born December 12, 1930, in Flint, Michigan, Barbara was the youngest child of Roman and Marvel (Henderson) Czachorski. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Patrick Basile; her second husband, Thomas Alexander; her daughter, Kimberly Basile; her brother, Donald Chandler; and her sister, Shirley Gain.

Barbara dedicated more than 30 years to teaching, inspiring generations of students with her kindness and love of learning. She treasured time at the family cottage on Lake Margrethe near Grayling, winters in Avon Park, FL, and enjoyed skiing and golfing with family and friends.

She is survived by her son, Raymond Basile, and daughter-in-law, Janice, of Grayling; her grandchildren, Colleen (John) Glon, Jeffrey (Misty) Hendricks, and Jennifer (Bruce) French; and nine great-granchildren.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the hospice team and caregivers at The Brook in Grayling for their compassionate care and support.

Barbara will be remembered for her devotion to family, dedication to education, and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable 95 years. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
