IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Amber Ione
Meech
November 6, 1930 – March 12, 2026
Amber Ione Meech, age 95, of Grayling, MI passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on March 12, 2026 at Munson Healthcare-Grayling Hospital.
Amber was born on November 6th, 1930, to Henry and Cora (Fischer) Meech in Battle Creek, MI. She moved to Grayling in 1948, where she graduated from Grayling High School in 1949. She worked at Hidden Valley Ski Club for many years, followed by 25 years working for Dr. Blaha and Dr. Henig at the Keyport Clinic. She ended her working years at Shoppenagons.
The greatest joy of her life was sharing the lives of her grandsons, Zachary, Spencer, Griffin, and Wesley. She was their biggest fan and was an integral part of their lives. She was an avid sports fan. Her favorite teams were the University of Michigan, the Pistons, the Tigers, and the Grayling Vikings. She seldom missed any of these teams on TV, and she listened to every radio broadcast of the Grayling Vikings, keeping stats and recording scores every quarter.
She is survived by daughter Cory (Meech) Dean and son-in-law Bill Dean; grandsons Zachary, Spencer, Griffin, and Wesley; and great grandchildren Ari, Nash, Cruz, and Sydney. She is also survived by nieces Julia (Carlson) Powers, Christine (Carlson) Olson, and many grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Cora and Henry, her sisters Merle and Burnice, her niece Cindi, her nephew Richard, and significant friend Bill Johns.
A gathering will be planned at a later date to celebrate Amber's life with family and friends.
Arrangements entrusted to Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home.
