Shirley Ann Longworth

July 3, 1943 — September 13, 2018

Shirley Ann Proulx Evon Longworth Born on July 3, 1943 - September 14, 2018. Shirley was born to Helen (Kellogg) and Al Proulx on July 3, 1943. Shirley grew up in Orchard Lake, but spent most of her summers visiting her grandparents at the Big House in Lovell's MI. That is where Shirley discovered a true love of the outdoors. It was these times she discovered a passion for gardening. Whether it was flowers or vegetables she loved being barefoot and hands dirty all summer and fall. Her roots also lead her to follow her parents love of collecting rocks. Not just any rocks but the famous (she convinced all the grand kids any way) PUDDING STONE's. It has since become a tradition with some of her grandchildren the quest of the elusive PUDDING STONE. Shirley Longworth was proceeded in death by her late husband Neil Longworth. Shirley was surrounded by her loving family as she passed to be with Neil. Shirley was most proud of her family. Arlene and Kevin Dietrich, Denise (DeeDee) and John Van Boemel, Carol and Todd Bennett, Cari and Ralph Opperman. Grandchildren Conor and Kelsey Dietrich, Alex and Kyle Van Boemel, Amanda and Ryan Bennett, Megan and Nicole Opperman. Shirley loved her summer grandma (Oma) camp time. Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Crawford County Animal Shelter.
