Robert Bruce Golnick, 84, lifelong resident of Grayling, passed away December 3, 2018. Bob was born on August 12, 1934 to the late William and Ruth (Lovely) Golnick in Grayling. He graduated from Grayling High School. Bob served in the United States Air Force. Bob married the former Jerimae Harwood on July 14, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. He retired from A&P grocery store in 1969 after 23 years. Bob was active in the Grayling Community serving on City Council and serving as Mayor of Grayling October 1987 to November 1997. He served on the Grayling Fire Department for 32 years with part of his career acting as the Fire Chief. Bob was employed at Crawford County Sheriff Department as a Deputy. He also worked for Sorenson Funeral Home. Bob was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and proudly served as an usher. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Traverse City Beach Bums. Survived by his wife, Jeri of 62 years. Children: Jenelle (Cy Wakeley) Golnick of Grayling and Jim (Yvonne) Golnick of Grayling. Grandchildren: Lori Pittman, Darcy McClain, Krysta (Chris Quisenberry) Golnick, and Joshua Golnick. Great grandchildren: Jesse, Zane, Callie, Hayley, Donny, and Kaylee. Brothers: Harold "Tike" (Sally) Golnick and Karl (Karen) Golnick. Sister: Dolores "Butch" Feldhauser. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fritz Golnick, Claude (Buno) Golnick, and sister, Jerry McGaffigan. Visitation will be held at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home on Friday, December 7, 2018 between 3-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery.
