Jack Gordon Metiva

Jack Gordon Metiva, 85, of Bear Lake Township, passed away on November 4, 2017. He was born in Tuscola County to the late Ivan and Antone (Zelenka) Metiva. He married Mary Ellen Crosby on April 30, 1955 in Akron, Michigan. Jack enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and hunting. He served in the US Army in Europe during the Korean War. Jack retired from the Eaton Foundry in Vassar. Jack is a lifetime member of the Fairgrove VFW and a member of Kalkaska Eagles #4496. Survived by his wife Mary Ellen of 62 years. Children: Cheryl (Mark) Metiva Kercher; Dru (Colleen) Metiva; Karen (Ron) Metiva Marker; Susan (Dan) Metiva Eason; and Bob (Joni) Metiva. Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Celebration of Jack's Life will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the Bear Lake Township Community Center.
