Francis "Grumpy" Kammer

Francis Stephen "Grumpy" Kammer, 86, of Frederic, passed away on October 15, 2017. He was born on January 1, 1931 in Whiting, Indiana to Francis and Amelia Kammer. Francis married Bunny Kimball on August 19, 1988 at Camp Grayling. He retired as a Chief Warrant Officer III, after 42 years of Civil Service for the US Army and Army Reserves. Francis was a member of the American Legion and VFW, Eagles, and Moose. Survived by his wife Bunny of 29 years. Children: Margaret Kelly, Stephanie (Randy) Wagner, Frank (Lisa) Kammer, and Edward (Sue) Kammer. Also survived by 15 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Step sons: Scott Fulgenti, Barry and Rich Mertes. Sisters: Patricia, Eileen, and Mary Lou. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Gerald Kammer, and daughters Veronica and Victoria. Graveside service with Military Honors will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Frederic on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 12:00 noon. Memorial Service will be held at Grayling Eagles on October 21, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Bunny wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff at Crawford Continuing Care Center for the excellent care that was given to Francis during his stay there.
